KCAB is the result of efforts from like-minded people who started celebrating Kerala’s cultural events such as Onam , Vishu etc from 2014 . It was mostly friends coming together and celebrating initially, then grown into events visited by more than 200 people. That raised the need for establishing a formal framework as a e.V.
The formal registration of KCAB as an organisation is to be traced back to the formation of Caritas Family Group after signing an agreement with the Caritas Beratungszentrum in Mehringdamm in which the Caritas agreed to provide us its premises as venue for bi-monthly informal get-togethers.
While KCAB will constitute the official representation of Berlin Malayalees vis-à-vis the Berlin Senate, the Cultural Division of Federal Ministry of Interior, Berlin District authorities as well as the Migrationsrat (the umbrella organization of Migrant Associations in Berlin), the informal meetings of Caritas Family Group will continue.
KCAB and Caritas Beratungszentrum would continue to cooperate and organize seminars to help the new comers to cope with the problems of integration in the German society by organizing informative seminars.
